Well HELLO wonderful friend!
It has been a while since I wrote to you! I love connection and invite you to send me a message and let me know how things are going for you! (You may not know - I do think about you).
From my peaceful summer, a trip to Toronto (go Leafs!) and trip to Britain, I stayed in vacation mode much longer than expected!
So here’s a not so small question for you!
Have you ever felt disconnected from the truth of who you really are?
I realized this summer that I had been. So I was ready for an upgrade! There was a lot of quiet. So I made room to really listen to my inner voice. And it’s so smart! Yours is too.
There were no podcasts or learning from others. Just the beauty of nature that surrounded me. Wisdom I’ve learned over the years came floating into my conscious thoughts to answer some of the questions I was asking.
Quotes like “the only thing lacking is what you are not giving.” “You get what you give.” I’d tell myself, just be loving. I knew what to do but often ended up angry and critical of what I wasn’t getting. I finally understood what ‘getting in your own way’ really means.
This time away allowed me to find my true self again. Sometimes when you get far enough away (alone) you can look at all things with new eyes and a softer heart. The confidence in myself grew because I remembered that between my brain, my heart and my inner guidance, I always figure out what I need, when I need to.
I see now it was a reset.
It’s easy to get bound into what you are used to. Often there are bad habits, negative patterns, and issues you want solved. And it’s easier to blame circumstances or others than to actually take the time to change yourself.
So it takes practice to create your practice.
Knowing and experiencing are vastly different.
Life is meant to have contrast. We wouldn’t know joy if there wasn’t pain. We feel high because we know what low feels like. And we came for the ride. All of it. Thriving to me doesn’t mean always good. It means always ALIVE. Staying open to all emotions and not getting caught up too long in the negative ones.
Feeling good is our natural state. That’s why we all want it. Separation is when we move away from our nature. How we know we’ve done that, is through negative emotion. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just an indicator.
And remember, we didn’t come to get it all done. We’re never done. It’s important to enjoy your life. To enjoy what you’re doing and who you’re doing it with. And when you don’t feel good, it's up to you to understand what life is trying to tell you. This part is personal. And it's worth carving out some alone time to get underneath it. If you want to.
I’m not sure if I’ll be back each week or just when I feel compelled to share something good. But I’ll be around!
Thinking of you and seeing the very best.
All my love,
Kristi 💜
